Walleye fishing was really good opening week. Temps were in the mid to high 70's and surface temps are in the 60's Fishing 14-16 feet of water with jig and minnow. Should be shallower soon with the warm temps. So very different again from last opening. Walleyes were bigger on avg, although the actual number of fish boated were lower than last year. Northerns in the 40's were caught ( and released of course ) while jigging with a minnow. Bass are moving to their beds. Pollen count I suspect is very high as everything is yellow.
